The Obituary

Life’s earthly journey for Mildred Hazel Hines Clark began on Monday, August 10, 1942. She was born in Moreland, Georgia to Norman Hines and Lula Virginia Banks Hines-Rater.

Hazel received her early education in Moreland, Georgia and she later moved to Thomasville where she was employed with Thomasville Furniture Industries, Plant D for over 40 years. She was married to Robert Lee Clark, Sr. and to this union one son was born, Robert Lee Clark, Jr.

In addition to her parents, Hazel was preceded in death by eight siblings Fred Hines, Frank Hines, Norman Hines, W. T. Hines, Walt Hines, Connie Junious, Catherine Lynch and Eva Kennedy.

Life’s journey for Mildred Hazel Hines Clark came to a quiet close on Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at her home at 335 Carroll Street, Thomasville, North Carolina. Hazel will be forever missed but always remembered by family and her close circle of friends as a quiet but humble person. Hazel was all about family helping all she could in all kinds of ways. She loved to dance. Even after her health failed she found a way to do her special moves — “the jig” by way of exercise. Her favorite past times included watching movies on her favorite TV channel Lifetime network. She would often fall asleep while watching Lifetime, the Price is Right and Let’s Make a Deal. Hazel also loved sitting on her front porch enjoying the outside.

Left to cherish fond and precious memories of her are her husband Robert L. Clark, Sr. of Thomasville, NC; one son Sergeant Major Robert L. Clark, Jr. of United State Army, currently stationed in Washington State; one sister Thelma Jean Bosier (Isaac) of Thomasville, NC; two brothers Wylie Hines of Burlington, NC and Wyatt Hines (Linda) of High Point, NC; four grandchildren Seneca Samuels, Christopher Clark, Brittani Clark and Quanya Brown, special nieces and caretakers Marcia Mathis, Pam Hines, and LeTonya Hackley; brothers-in-law Moses Kennedy and John Long; sister-in-law Mozelle Smith and host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

No farewell words were spoken

no time to say good-bye,

You were gone before we knew it

and only God knows why.
