The Obituary

“No man knows the hour nor the day.”

On Tuesday, September 1, 2015, God dispatched angels to Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center to the bedside of Mrs. Cleo Joeretta Spann Dingle to accompany her to her “New Home”.

Mrs. Dingle was born on December 16, 1926 in Lee County, SC to the late Sam Spann and Carrie Wilson Spann. She received her early education in South Carolina and later moved to Thomasville where she was employed by Thomasville Furniture Industries for more than 10 years. Up until her health declined, Mrs. Dingle was an active and faithful member of First Missionary Baptist Church. Her service to God and the church included Willing Workers, Kitchen Committee, Usher Board and the Senior Choir. She was married to Joseph Dingle whom the Lord called home several years ago. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her daughter , Wanda Dingle.

She was referred to as “Sister” by family, sharing her wisdom, and instilling the importance of family bonding. Whereas she was known as ’mother’ of the community, imparting of her love and support to everyone. She was always willing to share her faith, advice and support to anyone in need. She had a “green thumb” as a result she loved gardening. After you left her company your spirit and soul were fed. She will be sorely missed.

Left to cherish precious memories are her children: Ernestine (Tom) Curlee and Jessie Spann both of High Point, NC and Michael (Melva) Spann of Lexington, NC, two sisters, Eunice Anderson of High Point, NC and Carrie Green of Camden, NJ,: six grandchildren: Nicky Spann, Lamont Leak, Monica Curlee, David Curlee, Showron Stukes, and Alex Stukes; eight great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Now the laborer’s task is o’er; Now the battle day is past; Now upon the farther shore Lands the voyager at last.

Father, in Thy gracious keeping Leave we now Thy servant sleeping

Prayerfully Submitted,
