The Obituary
On Sunday, April 8 1973, God released an angel named Sharon Denise Durant to begin her earthly journey. She was born to James and Alberta Durant in Thomasville, North Carolina. To enhance heaven, God quietly called Sharon home on Wednesday, November 11, 2015.
After receiving her education from Thomasville City Schools and graduating with the class 1991, Sharon later enrolled in Davidson Community College where received a degree in cosmetology as a stylist. She operated her beauty shop from her home, serving many clients in Thomasville, High Point and Greensboro. Sharon worked with a special passion and more often than not, her clients quickly became her close friends. She enjoyed shopping, dancing and traveling, but most of her enjoyment in life came from being around family, especially her children, and friends where she would cook, entertain and share her love. She was very thoughtful and giving, and as many would testify, she reached out to give anyone a helping hand. She was a member of the Pantry and Birthday Club. Sharon was not only devoted to her children, but she often transported other youth to their weekly appointments. Planted in her faith, Sharon was a member of Friendship Baptist Church where she formerly served on the Usher Board, attended Sunday School and sang on the choir.
Sharon’s mother Alberta Andrews Durant preceded her in death in 1998.
She leaves to cherish fond and precious memories to her children, TyShon Johnson of U. S. Navy, currently stationed in Japan and Kayla Johnson of the home; her father James Durant of the home; two brothers: Tyrone Andrews of Kernersville, NC and Marcus Hert of Thomasville, NC, one sister: LaToya Durant of Thomasville; an adorable niece Aria “Toot” Neal of Thomasville, NC; one godson Kamar Billie-Fanning and one special son Jamode “Moochie” Martin; a caring aunt Ruby Billie of Thomasville, NC; a host of god sisters and god brothers; a thoughtful uncle Willie Durant of Thomasville, NC; a host of aunts and uncles and a special cousin and road-dog Janice Billie Buxton of Thomasville, NC; and other relatives and friends.
