Life’s Reflections

On Wednesday, November 18, 2015, God dispatched angels to Hinkle Hospice House in Lexington, North Carolina to the bedside of Mrs. Geraldine Spann Pressley to accompany her to her new “home”.

Born on February 12, 1948 in Lynchburg, South Carolina to the late Eugene Spann and Annie M. Dingle Spann, Geraldine graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School in South Carolina. She later moved to Thomasville, NC where she was formerly employed by Thomasville Furniture Industries and Ansell Edmont Incorporated. On December 24, 1973, she married Benjamin J. Pressley and to this union two children were born. Geraldine loved working in her yard, gardening and growing flowers. She loved her family, she enjoyed the company of close knit friends and she love watching old westerns on TV.

Geraldine was preceded in death by her daughter Greer Pressley Love in 2008.

Left to cherish her memory her husband Benjamin J. Pressley of the home; one son Benjamin D. Pressley of Thomasville; three grandchildren Marcus, Jelesa and Cinamin Love all of Thomasville; three great grandchildren; one sister Zelda M. Spann of Timmonsville, SC, three brothers Eugene Spann of Lynchburg, SC and Herbert Spann and Edward Spann both of Columbia, SC; sisters-in-law Victoria (Dennis) Caraway, Judith (Moses) Nelson, Lottie Bell Woods and Francina Pressley all of Salters, SC and one brother-in-law Alexander (Linda) Pressley of Kingstree, SC and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Now the laborer’s task is o’er; Now the battle day is past; Now upon the farther shore Lands the voyager at last.
