Life’s Reflections
On Friday, December 4, 2015, Cynthia Mae Mickens transitioned from this earthly life to life eternal while a patient in Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
Born in Thomasville, North Carolina on July 3, 1966 to Bernell Mickens and Diane Kendle Beckett, Cynthia received her early education from Thomasville City Schools and she later moved to New York where she graduated from PS 125 High School. Cynthia was formerly employed with Apria Healthcare and Carolina First Home Equity.
She joined the church family of Monumental Praise in High Point, North Carolina under the leadership of Dr. Kevin Williams, whom she loved and respected dearly. “Cynt”, as she was affectionately known by family and close friends, will be fondly remembered as a person who was friendly and fun to be around. She was not only a caring, loving and supportive mother, she also reached out to everyone she could. She enjoyed shopping and caring for her dog “Tigger”.
Surviving to cherish precious memories are her children Jonathan D. Thompson of U.S. Army, Fort Bragg, NC, Jeffrey R. Thompson of Lawrenceville, GA and Jacquis J. Thomas of High Point, NC, her mother Diane (Walter) Beckett of Brooklyn, NY, her father Minister Bernell (Dorothy) Mickens of Thomasville, NC, six grandchildren Jaylen, Prianka, Jazon, Jasiyah, Isiah and Ja’leah, sisters Linda Parker, Angela Love, Victoria Pierce, Shanice Mickens, Alice (Robert) Benjamin and Vera (Edward) James all of Thomasville; brothers Bernell Mickens, Jr. of Winston-Salem, NC, Charles (Karen) Mickens of Southmont, NC, Keith Love of Lexington, NC, Roylee Lindsay of Midway, NC, Clayton (Angie) Love and Edward Pierce both of Thomasville, NC, her fiancé Edward Bethia, Sr., a host of aunts and uncles, special nephew Kenny Mickens, several godchildren nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
Prayerfully Submitted ,
