Life’s Journey
Life’s earthly journey for Dorothy Jean Williams Webb began on February 20, 1937 in Hattiesburg, Mississippi and came to a quiet close on Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at Pine Ridge Health & Rehabilitation Center, Thomasville, North Carolina.
Dorothy received her education in Mississippi graduating with the Class of 1954. She married John Webb on July 7, 1973 who proceed her in death. While living in Mississippi Dorothy worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Forest General Hospital and as a teacher assistant at Tim Elementary School in Hattiesburg where she retired. In 2005 as Hurricane Katrina destroyed Mississippi it could not destroy family, Claudia and Laquila relocated their grandparents to Thomasville, North Carolina. She was a devoted member of Cornerstone Church of Christ, where she was the Mother of the church, a missionary and a soloist.
She will forever be missed but always remembered by family and a close circle of friends as a happy and loving person. Her favorite pastimes included: knitting, crocheting, word search and cooking. Her mouth would water for her favorite dishes , salt and pepper catfish, oyster and oyster stew. Dorothy loved fashion which she often displayed on Sunday in her “Sunday Best”.
Left to cherish fond and precious memories are two sons Claude (Channey) Reamous, Jr., Hattiesburg, MS and Charles Reamous, Mobile, Al.; four granddaughters Claudia Reamous, Laquila Reamous, Alexandra Reamous and Lachina Shanta Reamous.: four great-grandchildren Ariel Reamous, Alfredick Reamous, Alecia Gregg and Alayah Reamous-Coe, one step-son Reginal Car Webb; daughter-in-law Pamela Reamous, Cynthia Rene Hinton and a host of other relatives and friends.
No farewell words were spoken
no time to say good-bye,
You were gone before we knew it
and only God knows why.
