The Obituary

As the gates of heaven open on February 5, 2016, God welcome an angel Facious Lorraine Baldwin home. Born to the parents of Virginia Baldwin Cates and James Watson on March 20, 1966. Facious was loved by many especially George Cates who protected and provided for her as a father would.

Receiving her education within Chatham County school system; Faye was a proud graduate with the class of 1985 from Northwood High School, Pittsboro, NC. Realizing the importance of Christ in her life; Facious joined Second Baptist Church, where she loved the preached word and listening to gospel music. As former employee of K & W Cafeteria in Chapel Hill, NC; Facious’s contagious smile would warm the hearts of her customers.

“Faye” as she was affectionately called by family and friends was known as a very vivacious person, fun to be around, the life of the party, and her effervescent spirit - she would anyone give her last dime to anyone in need. To who all she touched her famous words will always be embedded within our hearts “I love you babe”.

As the wind blows and sand separates we find quartz and jewels like Faye; as a daughter, a sister, an aunt, a mother, a cousin and a friend we will hold on to memories as memories never end.

As footprints fade memories will always remain; leaving to reminisce days gone by are her children Marcus Baldwin of Knightdale, NC, and Jasmine Baldwin of the home; her mother Virginia (George) Cates of Pittsboro, NC; two sisters: Renee Baldwin of Conyers, GA, Nancy (Nathenial) Farrington of Chapel Hill, NC; a paternal grandmother Catherine Watson of Chapel Hill, NC; three nephews: Chrishawn Baldwin of Pinhurst, NC ; Terrell Baldwin, and Michael Penny of Chapel Hill, NC; one niece Niya Farrington of Chapel Hill, NC and one great-niece Noah Grace Baldwin; a forever soul-mate Barry Riggsbee, and a very deep cousin-best friend Sherry Hooker, aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of others. Faye’s father James Watson and brother Christopher Burnette welcomed her in her new home “heaven”.

Those we love don't go away, They walk beside us every day, Unseen, unheard, but always near, Still loved, still missed and very dear.

Prayerfully Submitted,
