The Obituary
Eddie Ross Dunlap was born on April 15, 1943 to the late Jim Dunlap and Allean Huntley Dunlap in Ansonville, North Carolina. His journey was fulfilled with family, fun and life experiences. In the late afternoon of April 2, 2016, Eddie entered into heaven gates.
Eddie attended Church Street School. He later moved to Washington, DC, and after several years there, he returned to Thomasville. He was a faithful member of Church of God of Prophecy until his health declined.
Eddie Ross loved his family; he was a good husband and father. He was a true sports fan, especially for the “Carolina Panthers”. He also loved golfing and boxing. Friends and family will fondly remember Eddie always being prepared to box with both fists in the air. This was a tip from Mike Tyson, to always be prepared. Eddie loved people and people loved him. He was easy to talk to! Family and friends would often come to him for advice. Eddie’s passion was washing windows in which he turned into a career. He was employed with several companies which allowed him the opportunity to see panoramic views of Washington, DC and Thomasville, NC.
Surviving to cherish precious memories include his wife, Carolyn Dunlap; three children, Sharon (Richard) Flippins of Thomasville, NC, LaRussia Dunlap of High Point, NC and Eddie M. Dunlap of Thomasville, NC; four brothers, James T. Dunalp, John Dunlap, James H. Dunlap and Henry Dunlap all of Thomasville NC; five sisters, Othelia Moss of Thomasville, NC, Mary Izzard of Jacksonville, Fla, Shirlene (Taylor) Pegues of High Point, NC, Ara Turner and Eyvone (Ardell) Cokley both of Thomasville, NC; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Now upon the farther shore, Lands the voyager at last.”
