Life’s Reflections
Life’s journey for Amos Lee Staton began on December 24, 1947. He was born in Thomasville, North Carolina to the late Essix Staton and Elease Smith Staton. Amos was a 1966 graduate of Church Street School. He was formerly employed by Thomasville Furniture Industries, Plant A for several years, but was last employed by Component Concepts, formerly Masonite Industries. He was of the Baptist faith.
Amos was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Diane Wright and Evelyn Staton and one grandson Frederick McClinton.
“Fella”, as he was known by family and friends, loved people and he enjoyed socializing with a close-knit circle of friends at his home. He was an avid football fan of the Dallas Cowboys and the Thomasville Bulldogs. Amos will be missed by all who crossed his path.
Surviving are his wife, Nancy Henderson Staton of Thomasville, NC; one son, Brandon Staton of Thomasville, NC and one daughter, Latina York (Clarence) of Winston-Salem, NC; five grandchildren; six sisters, Alice Covert of Thomasville, NC, Patricia Staton of High Point, NC, Candie Curry of Gastonia, NC, Tracy Glover of Jamaica, NY, Carolyn Staton of California, and Brenda Torrnece of High Point, NC; six brothers, Cleveland Staton of Thomasville, NC, Frankie Staton of Brooklyn, NY, Wayne Staton of California, Edward Torrence and Ed Torrnece both of High Point, NC and Kenny Dingle of Queens, NY, a special friend and caregiver, Mary Ann Stokes of the home; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Our family chain is broken And nothing seems the same But as God calls us one by one The chain will link again.
