Obituary
On July 3, 2016, surrounded by loved ones Joseph Fitzgerald Kirkland departed this earthly life at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center for eternal life.
Joseph Fitzgerald Kirkland was born on July 4, 1968 to the late Jimbo Cannon and Mary Magdalene Kirkland. He attended the Thomasville public school system and Friendship Missionary Baptist Church.
Family and friends will remember how “Popa” or “My Daddy” would change the atmosphere with his outgoing personality. He was the “life of the party” and never met a stranger. He loved his family. His smile was an array of sunshine to all his children and grandchildren. When he was not with his family, you could find Joe enjoying outdoor activities such as fishing, camping, and hunting. “Dogs, as man’s best friend” was a true statement when it came to Joe’s love for dogs. He was a dire heart Duke fan, especially when it came to basketball.
Leaving to cherish his precious memories are his children: Jawonte Little, Tywon Little, Quadarius Kirkland, Jatwon Small, Keyasha Kirkland, Zaquanza Little all of Lexington, NC and Brandon Little of High Point, NC; the true love of his life, Tiffany Little of the home; ten grandchildren; one brother, Derrian Lindsey of Winston-Salem, NC; two sister, Amy Kirkland of Greensboro, NC and Cassandra (Timothy) Wilder of Thomasville, NC, and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins , other relatives and friends.
Gone from our sight
But never our memories
Gone from our touch
But never our hearts.
