On Tuesday, July 12, 2016, while surrounded by his family, Sterling Wayne Gill transitioned from his earthly life to life eternal.
Life’s earthly journey for Sterling began on Monday, July 3, 1967 in Thomasville, North Carolina where he was born to Ruth Priscilla Gill.
Sterling was a 1985 graduate of Thomasville Senior High School and he attended Guilford Technical Community College where he studied upholstery. He was employed with EDM (Electronic Data Magnetics) in High Point, NC. Sterling was preceded in death by his son Sterling Solomon Gill, one brother Marty S. Fant and one aunt Julia Katie Gill.
Friends and family will fondly remember his very outgoing personality who enjoyed the company of close friends, Shawn Worthy, Jonathan Gladden, Derrick Davis, Latrisha Miller, Tyrone Bossier, Nick Means, Javon Waden, Norman Hines and André Cannon to name a few; but Sterling was the “life of the party”. He loved to shop, therefore—a sharp dresser he was. He also enjoyed cooking and listening to his favorite music—Reggae, because he said it soothes the soul. Sterling will be missed by all who God allowed to cross his path. First and foremost Sterling loved his family.
He leaves a legacy of love to his children Steven S. Gill, Thomasville, NC, 1st Class Petty Officer Trevan (Ashley) Davis- Jacksonville, FL, Shawntika D. Davis of Thomasville, NC, Shalonda Davis- High Point, NC; his mother Ruth Priscilla Gill of Thomasville, NC; one brother Ryan Gill of Thomasville, NC, six sisters Rachel (Curtis) Ingram, High Point, NC, Toni Fant, Thomasville, NC, Angela (Carlton) Hogan, Thomasville, NC, Teri (John) Quander, Silver Spring, MD, Cecilia Hargrave, Lexington, NC, and Beverly Horne of Thomasville, NC
grandchildren Nhquaris Little, Amariah Davis, Jalen Harris, and Trevan Davis, Jr. and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
