The Obituary

On November 16, 2016 angels await as God ushered Shirley Marie Teal Dunlap through heavenly gates. October 29, 1958 in Wadesboro, North Carolina to the late Hubert Teal and Margaret McBride Teal.

Shirley was really down to earth. She enjoyed the simple things in life. First and foremost family and friends were very important! Talking to her friends and family everyday was a gift of buried treasures; especially her mother and grandchildren. Every holiday Shirley encouraged her family to gather together and celebrate where she would delight them with her good cooking. Shirley enjoyed shopping at JC Penny and the neighborhood yard sales where she would always find a “diamond in the ruff”! When Shirley was not shopping you would find her watching the Lifetime Movie channel and some good ole wrestling, but nothing soothed her soul more than the “Blues”.

In addition to her father, Shirley was proceeded in death by her two brothers: Terry Lee Teal and Hubert Teal, Jr.

She leaves to cherish fond and precious memories to her daughters: Quanda Dunlap and Erica Teal both of Thomasville, NC, and LaTonya (Christopher) Smith of Winston– Salem, NC, her mother Margaret Teal of the home, three brothers: Alvin (Felecia) Teal of Winston– Salem, NC, Javester Teal of Thomasville, NC and James Teal of Arlington, VA; one sister Betty (Bernard) Bowden of Thomasville, NC; two grandchildren: Kendell Smith and Christopher Smith, II; and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
