Obituary
Mother Cleve McCurdy Ball was born to the late Governor and Cora Hilley McCurdy on November 25, 1918 in Toccoa, Georgia. On Saturday, December 10, 2016 she took a flight to a city called Heaven…a place of rest, where there is no more dying, no tears, no sorrow nor pain.
In March 1927 the family journeyed to Thomasville, North Carolina where Mother Ball was educated in the public schools of Davidson County. She was united in Holy Matrimony to Emerson Ball who preceded her in death, along with her seven siblings Gladys Jones, Queen Sanders, Lorenza McCurdy, Rudolph McCurdy, James McCurdy, Brownie McCurdy and George McCurdy. Mother Ball was employed by Davidson Laundry in Thomasville, North Carolina for many years.
Mother Ball accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior and joined Zion Tabernacle Fire Baptized Holiness Church of God of the Americas. Up until her illness, she served on the Mother’s Board and the Missionary Board. She was a faithful and loyal member. Mother Ball was a woman of character, strength and wisdom. She loved people and had a heart full of love for them. She made an impact on the lives of many.
She leaves to cherish and reflect on her wonderful memories her daughter, Patsy Battle of Thomasville, NC; son Ralph Ball (Brenda) of Hampton, Virginia; three grandchildren Terry Battle, Ronnie Battle, Brandon Ball; five great-grandchildren: Brittany Skeen, Maxton Clark, Madison Clark, Kalia Battle, Bliss Battle; one great great-grandchild Kameron Saunders and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, friends and her church family.
