Mary Cannon Kinard was born on December 24, 1929 to the late George McCant and Janie Cannon in Newberry, South Carolina. Her precious memories came to a quiet closure on December 8, 2016. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Mary will be remembered as a strong, independent, and virtuous women. As a Nanny she cared for many children showing how a little tender loving care could mean so much. In her own family she showed her children, grand- children, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren how to walk a faithful life. Her good cooking kept their physical spirit fed, and her wisdom and strong faith kept their spiritual spirit fed. She was a faithful member of Brown New Calvary Baptist Church working with the Missionaries and singing in the choir until her health declined. Family and friends will miss her walking in the community and wearing her hats.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, three grandchildren and 10 sisters and brothers.
Leaving to cherish her memories are her two sons: Larry Kinard of Thomasville,NC, and Clarence Kinard, Jr. of Winston Salem, NC; her three daughters: Mary Ann (Jimmy Lee) Andrews and Minnie Mae Lyons both of Thomasville, NC, and Susie T. Kinard of Columbus, OH, seven grandchildren: Anthony Kinard, Darryl Kinard, Kenny Lyons all of Thomasville, NC, Gregory Kinard of Chester, VA, Teneka Andrews of San Francisco, CA, Kim Kinard and Tammy Kinard both of Columbus, OH, 16 great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren, one sister Shirley Cannon of Thomasville, NC, one brother Williams Cannon of Lanham, MD, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.
