The Obituary
Her Life on Earth:
Wanda Kaye Redfern Patrick, daughter of the late William Redfern, Jr., and Callie Beatrice Thomas Redfern was born on September 7, 1956 in Thomasville, North Carolina. Wanda was born in Davidson County, but she was a life long resident of Guildford County. She attended Thomasville Senior High School, and graduated with the class o 1974. Wanda was also a graduate of Ohio State University.
Mrs. Patrick accepted Christ at an early age and joined Union Baptist Missionary Church where she faithfully served on the Usher Board, the Young Adult Choir, Sunday School teacher, and help her husband, the late Kenneth Patrick organized the songs for the choirs. She later joined St. Paul Apostle Church of Jesus Christ and served on the choir. She was married to Kenneth Wendell Patrick, Sr., who was laid to rest in 2016.
Wanda was a young lady that was full of life, but if you made her mad, you had trouble on your hands. She loved to cook and clean her house when she was well. Wanda like family gatherings. Wanda will be missed by all whose path she crossed.
Eternal Life:
Wanda Kaye Patrick was given a room in her Father’s mansion on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 briefly after she arrived at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro, North Carolina. Wanda reached the young age of 60 before she went to be with the Lord.
Proceeded her in death are her parents, husband, Kenneth Patrick, Sr., and
brother Jerry Redfern.
“Mourn not my death but celebrate my Life”
Left to cherish precious memories of her are two sons, Kendrick Patrick and Darren Patrick both of Greensboro; three grandchildren: Jaden Haney, McKienze Robbins, and Jeremiah Miner; five sisters, Ellen Mckinney, Sandra Tuttle, Donna Redfern and Audrey Clay all of Thomasville, NC, and Anginette Johnson of Charlotte, NC, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
On Tuesday, February 21, 2017 Heaven’s gates swung gently open, and The Master called softly, “Wanda, come”, she quickly took the Master’s hand, and her work on earth was done.
We’ll never cease to miss her,
and shed many silent tears,
because we cannot share with her our hopes,
our joys, and fears.
But one day, in God’s garden,
when the Master call us to come.
She’ll be at the gates with open arms and say to us,
Welcome Home!
Prayerfully Submitted,
The Family
