HIS JOURNEY
On March 29, 1956 Jerry Lee Myers was born to the late Tom and Nellie Henry Myers in Greensboro, North Carolina. He departed this earthly life on September 14, 2017.
After the passing of his parents, Jerry was reared by Willie Ann and Bobby Poole, Sr. in Thomasville, North Carolina.
Jerry was kind and loving. He enjoyed the simple things in life; family and friends! Jerry was well known in and around Greensboro and Thomasville. Although he did not drive or have a car, Jerry would cover more distance than the average person would. He walked everywhere!
He loved people and people loved him. Jerry never met a stranger in his path. His favorite hang-out places were Tommy’s Bar-B-Que, Pee Wee Coleman Auto Shop and the Mexican Carwash. When time allowed his cousin Jeff would cruise him around in his truck.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents.
Surviving to cherish fond memories, includes his guardians and cousins, Willie Ann and Bobby Poole, Sr. of Thomasville, NC; two sisters, Lorette Poole of Thomasville, NC, and Tara Oliver of High Point, NC; three brothers, Rev. Bobby, Jr., (Katie) Poole, Jeffrey (Deborah) Poole, and Anthony Poole all of Thomasville, NC; three cousins, Marcella (LC) Flowers and Sarah Henry both of Thomasville, NC and Roger (Doris) Henry of Chicago, IL; his special caregiver and cousin, Leandor Poole of the home and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
