Obituary

On July 24, 1958, God released an angel named Robert Allen Smith to the late Jack Allen Smith and Sarah Smith. On November 17, 2017, God called Robert home.

Robert accepted Christ at an early age. He was a member of First Missionary Baptist Church. He graduated from Thomasville Senior High School with the class of 1977.

Robert was a devoted son, brother, father, grandfather, and friend. He loved his family especially his grandchildren. He loved shopping for them; they called him “snack man”.

Robert was well known in Thomasville; family and friends referred to him as “ Mama Boy” for his love of cleaning, “Po’boy” and Billy Clyde were his childhood nick names. But no matter what they called him, he always answered when they called him to fix things. Robert was very talented with his hands, and he had the knowledge to fix anything. Robert enjoyed eating popcorn and watching western movies. He will be missed my all.

Robert was preceded in death by his father, Jack Allen Smith.

He is survived by his mother, Sarah Coleman Smith Love and stepfather, John Love of the home; twelve children: Tangsha Glandy, Stephon Gladney, Latonya Caple, Chandra Caple, Lanisha Caple, Roberta Smith, Angel Smith, Ronasia Smith, Jayden Smith, Bernard Robinson, Ebet Robinson and Amber Crabtree; fourteen grand-children; two great-grandchildren; four brothers: Eric L. Coleman, W. Scott (Jacquelyn) Smith, Kenneth J. Smith, Frederick J. (Marian Stephenson) Smith; two step-sisters: Cindy Love and Shelia Love; god-sister, Marcella Mathis; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews
