The Obituary
Bill Williams was born September 23, 1938 in Summerton, South Carolina to the late Sonny White and Sarah Dukes Williams. On December 24, 2017, he quietly departed this life while in the comfort of his home in Thomasville, North Carolina.
Bill was educated in the Clarendon County, South Carolina school system. While growing up, he attended his mother’s family church Little St. Phillip UME church in Summerton, S. C. After leaving school at an early age, Bill went to work in the logging industry in Clarendon County for a few years before moving to Thomasville, North Carolina. As a young adult, he worked 17 years as a rip saw operator for Thomasville Furniture Industries Plant-L. He later worked for Masonite Corporation as a machine operator before retiring from janitorial services at Columbia Panel Corporation in High Point, N. C.
In 1968, he married Mary Lou Junious and enjoyed a devoted marriage for 59 years. As a quiet and gentle man, Bill found peace in the comforts of home and family. He valued the tranquility of a quiet life in a loving home environment where he enjoyed watching western movies and television shows, especially cowboy pictures. He was a lifelong gardener who planted and tended a vegetable garden yearly until his death, and he frequently shared his vegetables with many neighbors and friends.
Bill enjoyed the company of a small circle of friends; his closest friends were James Bosier and Levi Mashore. He was a man who will be remembered for his good provision, love and care for his family.
He is survived by his wife Mary Lou Williams of the home; a sister Delcina Scott of Summerton, South Carolina; and a brother; and a host of other relatives and friends.
