The Obituary

On January 13, 1960 in Thomasville, North Carolina birth was given to Frenchie Dishion Skeen by the late Daynise Skeen. Fifty– eight years later on February 11, 2018, Frenchie transitioned from this earthly life to eternal life. After graduating from Thomasville Senior High School in 1979 at the age of 19, he volunteered for service in the United State Navy.

Upon his discharge from the U.S. Navy ,in 1984 he returned to Thomasville. His employment career consisted of Kaby Mills for 15 years and in 2001 he joined Thomasville Medical Center as an Environmental Technician where he worked until his health declined. Frenchie loved his job and co-workers.

“Hawk” as family and friends called him was a quite and gentle man. He valued the tranquility of a quite life in a loving home environment where he enjoyed watching sports, especially his favorite team, the“ New England – Patriots”. He was a fighter who never complained. Frenchie was a devoted husband and great provider. As he never fathered any children of his own, he loved children. He often shared his wisdom, guidance and advice with his adopted grandchildren, friends and neighbors. He will truly be missed by all.

Leaving to cherish his fond memories includes his wife, of 38 years, Debra Skeen of the home, special daughter, sister-in-law, and caregiver, Kathy Leak of Thomasville, NC; two brothers, Chan (Evelyn) Skeen of Thomasville, NC and Kaven (Jackie) Skeen of Salisbury, NC,; three sisters, April Duncan of High Point, NC, Frankie (Eric) Reid of Lexington, NC, and Sharri Skeen of Chapel Hill, NC,; five brothers-in-law, Robert (Hazel) Duncan, Kenneth (Inell) Duncan, Wyatt (Keisha) Duncan, Curtis Duncan and Jeffrey Duncan; two sisters-in-law, Mary (Danny) Johnson and Patricia (Sylvester) Little, one godson, Desmond Little and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
