The Obituary
Mrs. Moses was born October 13, 1933 in Darlington, SC. She was the eldest daughter of the late James and Louise Garner Josey. She departed this life peacefully at her home on February 15, 2018.
Ruby attended the public schools in Darlington County and was later married to the late Nathaniel Leroy Moses. She attended Congregational United Church of Christ where she was an usher. She was also employed at Carolina Underwear for many years where she later retired.
Ruby was a faithful wife and loving mother who always put her children first. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family.
Ruby was proceeded in death by her parents, step-mother, Sue Genia Josey, husband and five brothers, James Josey, Jr., Andrew Alford, Dozier Josey, Elisha and Elijah (twins).
Ruby leaves to cherish her loving memory: two sons, Levern (Elder Janet) Josey of High Point, NC, and James Moses of Norfolk, VA; three daughters, Connie Moses Jackson of High Point, NC, Agnes Henderson of Stone Mountain, GA, and Evangelist Laura Tye of Thomasville, NC; 16 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren who she cherished dearly; eight sisters, Mary Lee, Leila Williamson, Betty (Henry) Graham, Dorothy (Rufus) Benjamin and Evelyn (Thomas) Robinson, Lillian (Wendell) Dixon, Janet Moore and Connie (Marvin) Richards; five brothers, Leo (Anita) Josey, Roosevelt Alford, William (Eva Mae) Alford, James (Lisa) Alford and Robert (Paula) Alford; a special daughter, Linda Josey of Lansdale, PA, a sister-in-law, Susan Alford and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
