Obituary

On March 4, 2018, God picked a rose named Jacqueline Denise Rubin Smith from his earthly garden to enhance his eternal garden. “Jackie” as she was known by family and friends was born on June 4, 1959 to Shelvy Rubin and the late Larry Rubin in Thomasville, North Carolina.

Jackie attended Thomasville City Schools, graduating with the class of 1977. Afterward she continued her education at Ashmore Business College. She was a faithful member of Union Baptist Church where she served on the usher board. Jackie knew that cleanliness is next to godliness as she took pride in her home and employment. She love to wind down listening to smooth R& B WQMG 97.1.

Jackie was family oriented. She loved her family especially her two sons. She had a big heart and would extend her assistance to anyone. Family and friends will always remember Jackie for her contagious smile and big heart. She will truly be missed.

Leaving to cherish her memories are her husband, William Scott Smith, two sons, Ricky Smith and Bryan Smith; two granddaughters, Kayln Smith and Gabrielle Huntley; mother, Shelvy Medley Rubin, two sisters, Shelvy L. Rubin and Sharon A. (Mitchell) Rubin, one brother, Larry (Evon) Rubin all of Thomasville, NC; aunt, Catherine McCall of Darlington, SC, mother-in-law, Sarah E. (John) Love, three brothers-in-law, one god-daughter, Tasha Cannon and host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.
