He answered “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind, and Love your neighbor as yourself”, was the words Dorothy Ruth Davis lived each day of her seventy years. Born on December 9, 1947 to the late Clifton and Lucille Davis in Thomasville, North Carolina. She entered into heaven on March 28, 2018.
Dorothy attended Church Street High School. Dorothy had a strong faith belief, she believed faith is the strength by which a shattered world shall emerge into life. “Let your life reflect the faith you have in God. Fear nothing and pray for everything”; she learned as a member of Brown New Calvary Baptist Church and later transited to Unity United Methodist Church. She was a giving person, her walk demonstrated this as she would always go out of her way to ensure others had everything they needed. She worked and retired from Thomasville Medical Center.
“Tim” as she was affectious known by family and friends, enjoyed spending time with family. She was a very proud mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She would often enticed them with her cooking and showering them with gifts. She loved shopping while traveling to new places. She enjoyed watching movies, and sports; as she was a Carolina Panthers and Dallas Cowboys fan. Dorothy enjoyed dancing, listening to music and especially laughing. One would say she lived life to the fullest.
Dorothy was proceeded in death by her parents and one brother, Robert Davis.
She leaves to cherish fond and precious memories to her son, Willis (Nikki) Morris, Jr., of Charlotte, NC, one grandson, Mason; two brothers, Charles ( Cheryl) Davis and Clifton (Sharon) Davis, Jr., two sisters, Elaine Elmore and Joe Anne Davis all of Thomasville, NC; two aunts, Shelly Maxton and Alice (Odley) Cole, and a host of nieces, nephew and other relatives and friends.
