The Lord called the roll for….

Mrs. Ernestine “Stine” Junious Stukes on April 16, 2018, at the Meridian Center of High Point, NC. Although she didn’t have time to let us know…. Jesus was calling another angel on home….

She was born on September 24, 1932 in Rimini, South Carolina. She was the daughter of the late Madison Junious and Mary Jane McConico Junious. Her paternal grandparents were the late George “Papa” and Carolina McConico.

She received her education in the public schools in Clarendon County, South Carolina. She received Christ early in her life. She was a member of St. Peters AME church of Rimini, South Carolina; under the leadership of the late Rev. Gamble. She later joined Liberty Hill AME Church after marriage. On December 30, 1957, she entered holy matrimony with Rev. Joseph Stukes .Sr,. Which they were blessed and loving union of over 60 years; of this union five children were born.

After moving to Thomasville, North Carolina in October 1962, she later joined Friendship Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. Rankin Cheeks and continued under the late Rev. H N Goode. She was a member of the Gospel Choir, the Missionary Department, and Pastor's Aide until she became ill. She was employed at Thomasville Furniture Industries - Plant C for over 30 years before retiring.

She is preceded in death by two sisters Marie Junious Riley and Irene Junious Nelson Johnson, two brothers Jacob and Esaw Junious. Also her mother-in-law, Martha Gaymon Stukes and father-in-law Benjamin “Bush” Harrison Stukes.

Left to cherish her fond memories are her devoted husband, Rev Joseph Stukes, Sr. of the home, two daughters, Lucille Stukes Green of Thomasville, NC, and Annie (Randolph) Draughorne of San Diego CA,; three sons, Hubert “BG” (Pauline) Stukes, Joseph (Kim) Stukes Jr, and James L Stukes all of Thomasville NC, her grands, Uniquiki Stukes, Erica Green, Avis LeGrande, Ta`Shea LeGrande, Quentin Stukes, Jeremy Stukes, Dontaveon “Tay” Wilson, Kenan Draughorne, great grands, Amiah “Mi” Stukes, Malaysia “Lace” Brown, Cameron “Cam” Lyons, and Jaxon “Jax” Stukes, four sisters, Evangelist Inez Junious, Bishop Dorothy Williams, Lucille McConico, and Evangelist Mary Junious all of South Carolina, one brother-in-law, Gregory (Myrna) Stukes of Las Vegas NV; a special cousin Junior McConico. A special care provider, Diane Durant, a devoted daughter-in-law and care provider, Pauline Stukes; a special granddaughter and honorary daughter, Uniquiki Stukes. and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
