Obituary
Annie Ruth Darr was born on September 29, 1935 to the late Clyde Hayes Darr and Mabel Elizabeth Craven Darr in Thomasville, North Carolina. She departed this earthly life on May 26, 2018.
Annie Ruth was a proud member of Emmanuel Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Samuel McLendon and Rev. O. B. Cook where she severed as an usher and sang in the senior choir. She remained an active member until her health decline. Her biggest passion in life was God, family, and friends.
Annie Ruth was a loving and joyful person. Family and friends will remember her for her sense of honor, collection of nic naks and her love for basketball. Her favorite teams were the Chicago Bulls and Golden State Warriors. She also enjoyed traveling to the beach, bowling, fishing, and doing puzzles to stimulate her mind. But nothing enticed her more than family facts. Annie Ruth felt it was very important to keep up with family history. She was known as the family historian.
Annie Ruth worked for City Memorial Hospital for 12 years, prior to Thomasville Furniture Industry, Plant C where she retired after 32 years of service.
Annie Ruth was proceed in death by her parents, and siblings, Clyde Hayes Darr, Jr., George Odell Darr, Herbert Richard Darr, Bessie Mae Smith, and Marie Darr Scott.
Annie Ruth leaves to cherish her memories is her son, Reginald (Vera) Darr of High Point, NC; one grandson, Kenyetta Mickens; one sister, Peggy Jean (Charles) Beatty of Cleveland, OH.; a special niece, Casselle (Everette) McKoy of Durham, NC and other nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
