The earthly life of Charles William Staton came to a peaceful close on Thursday, October 25, 2018.
Charles was born on May 25, 1961 in Thomasville, North Carolina. He lived to be 57 years old. He attended Thomasville Senior High School and graduated in 1979.
While attending Thomasville Senior High School, Charles engaged in several sport activities. One being wrestling and the other being football. The love of sports always stuck with him. Charles enjoyed watching two of his favorite sports teams, the Carolina Tarheels and the Pittsburgh Steelers. Along with watching his football, Charles would also watched NASCAR.
Charles loved to help the people within his community; washing cars and mowing lawns. His family will always remember him frying his specialty “drumsticks” at the house. Charles was a family man. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Left to cherish his memories are his loving and devoted children; Charin (Brian) Staton of Greensboro, NC, Charles (Twana) Cooper of Durham, NC and Eric Harris of Archdale, NC; a beloved mother, Naomi (Larry) Dow of Thomasville, NC; his father, Charles Hsmmond, four sisters; Elizabeth Perry of Fayetteville, NC, Lisa (Hollis) Jones of Thomasville, NC, Treva Grace of Trinity, NC, and Priscilla Green of Wingate, NC; one brother, Marcus (Nikki) Dow of Greensboro, NC; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant.
