Joe Pink Denny fondly known as “Lil Joe” was born on November 29, 1960 in Chapel Hill, North Carolina to Alene Penny Denny and the late Mallon Denny. While surrounded by family he quietly transited into heaven on October 29, 2018; 30 days short of his 58th birthday.

Lil Joe graduated from Northwood High School in Pittsboro, North Carolina with the class of 1978. While attending Northwood he played baseball. He was always a team player. Willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need; but never expecting anything in return. Family was very important, especially his grandsons. They knew Papa was always there for them!

Lil Joe will always be remembered as being very kind, easy going, and outspoken. His spent his pastime fishing, playing golf and nibble a little at drawing. Joe was very talent with his hands which guided his career path to construction where he worked for Elite Building Solutions for seven years.

Lil Joe will truly be missed. Fond memories of his laughter, his love and his famous “ribs” at the family cookouts.

Lil Joe was proceeded in death by his father, Mallon Denny, and two sisters, Tammy Denny and Teresa Denny.

Leaving to cherish is memories are his wife for 39 years, Barbara Penny, his devoted children: Kendrick (Jameka) Parrish of Chapel Hill, NC; Antonio Penny of Mebane, NC; and Lashonda Penny of Pittsboro, NC; five grandsons, KJ Parrish, Rayjon Gray, Shamar Dowdy, Legend Penny, and Jordan Penny; his lovely mother, Alene Denny of Durham, NC; his two sisters, Tina (Charles) Perry and Lori Stroud both of Durham, NC; special brother, Ryan Stroud; two uncles, Lewis Denny and Harold Denny and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
