Obituary
James Allen Wilder was born on April 10, 1933 in Pinewood, South Carolina to the late Allen and Pearl Wilder. While surrounded by family on November 1, 2018 he quietly transitioned into heaven.
James was a committed, inspiring and spiritual man. Planed in his faith, he was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church until his health declined.
James was the anchor of the family. Family was very important to him. Family will miss him dearly. Everyone described him as strong, supportive and encouraging; with a heart of gold! His sense of humor and outgoing personality made him an easy person to talk to.
James was determined to provide for his family. He was an entrepreneur; his businesses included a candy store, a car lot and a club. In additional he drove trucks and cabs. He was a great nurturer.
James was proceeded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Humphries, his parents; four sisters, Lillie Mae Billie, Mary Sue Mitchell, Rose Marie Young, Bertha Lee Wilder; two brothers, Joe Thomas and Eddie Lee Wilder; and a brother-in-law, Freddie Young.
Leaving to cherish his memories are his children, Jimmy (Elizabeth) Wilder, Sr., and Nikita Abrams both of Columbia, SC, Veronica Boyd and Mitchell Humphries of High Point, NC; six grandchildren, Belinda (Johnny) Wilder-Cheatham, Jimmy Wilder, Jr., Sta-Lissa Mendez, David Redfern, Daniel Redfern, Darien Norwood, Pasha and Celia Abrams; several great–grandchildren; three sisters, Dorothy Fordham, Pearlethia (Johnny) Postell, and Maggie (Tommy) Standford; three brothers, Ernest Jackson, Moses (Sarah) Wilder and Johnny Wilder; special niece, Marsha Cullins; a sister-in– law, Kay (John) McCormick; a brother-in– law, Johnny Mitchell and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
