Obituary

On December 1, 1922, Eva Mae Dallis Davis was born to the late Leroy Dallis, Sr. and Naomi Banks Dallis in Hogansville, Georgia. Eva was blessed to have celebrated 96 wonderful years of life. She quietly drifted into her eternal life on March 10, 2019.

Eva graduated from Church Street School in Thomasville, North Carolina. After raising her children, Eva was determined to fulfill her divined destiny and earned her degree in nursing assistance. Her career path includes being a seamstress at Carolina Underwear, and nurse assistance at Mayfield and Liberty House. Her most important positions were with family. She enjoyed all her roles as a daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, niece, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother. She enjoyed traveling to the beach, cruises, gardening and reading.

Planted in her faith Eva was a dedicated member of Central United Methodist Church where she served as Youth Director, an office of Methodist United Women and secretary of Trustee board. Eva worked until her health declined.

Heaven gates awaits Eva as she joins her parents, her husband, Curtis Davis and two children, Carolyn Steele and Evelyn Harper and two brothers James Dallis and Leroy Dallis, Jr.

Leaving to cherish his fond memories includes her daughters: Barbara Abrams of La Plata, MD, Nancy Carter of Landover, MD, Lorraine Willis of Upper Marlboro, MD and Jacquelyn Baxter of Thomasville, NC, 11 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, 15 great-great grandchildren whom they called “Ma Mae” and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
