Reflections
On December 2, 1967, Ruth and the late James Henry Taylor, Sr., gave birth to their one and only son, James Henry Taylor, Jr., in Brooklyn, New York. While surrounded by family, James’ life came to a quite close on March 28, 2019, at High Point Regional Hospital in High Point, North Carolina.
“Junior” as he was fondly called by family and friends received his education from the Eastern District school system in Brooklyn, New York. Afterwards, his parents relocated the family to Thomasville, North Carolina.
James loved the company of people. He was a “people person” who loved dancing and listening to music, watching movies and telling a joke or two. His pastime was watching his favorite “Green Bay Packers” or playing his X-box. James was employed with Waffle House for 19 years which was a means to provide for his children.
Junior had a passion for cooking. He knew how to truly feed the soul to win your heart. Family and friends will miss his famous fried chicken and fried fish. The customers of the Waffle House will miss his grill master skills.
Surviving to cherish precious memories and love include his mother, Ruth Peake Taylor of Thomasville, NC, five children, Shaneeka Taylor of Petersburg, VA, Timothy Taylor of California, Arrianna Taylor and James Taylor both of Lexington, NC and Isaiah Taylor of Winston-Salem, NC; four grandchildren, Shaniyah Echols, Elejah Jones, Za’maya Smith, and Nevaeh Taylor, all of Petersburg, Va.; three sisters, Ashernita Tayor, Madiah Taylor and Najah Taylor and a host of other relatives and friends.
