Her Journey

On January 29, 1955, Lafeyette Franklin Davis, Sr. and Jennie Harris Davis give birth to Helen Marie Davis Rease in Thomasville, North Carolina.  We were blessed to have shared 64 years of support,  guidance, friendship and most of all, love.  On April 5, 2019, our hearts saddened as Helen transitioned from this earthly life to her eternal life.

Helen was a very caring, yet a strong independent woman. She exemplified a true woman of Christ through her daily walk.  As she always said, “Let the life I’ve lived, speak for me!”  Planted in her faith, Helen attended several  houses of worship, Zion Tabernacle F. B. H. Church, Brown New Calvary Church, New Life Christian Church and Union Baptist Church yearning for the word of God.  The three most important things in her life were: faith, family and fun.

Her love for children secured financial support for her   family and a strong foundation for every child who attended her daycare center which she owned and operated for over 30 years. “Auntie”, as she was called by the children learned the importance of respect and moral  values. Friends and family could attest to her valuable guidance and understanding skills.  She was a great listener and you would always receive a scripture to support and confirm her  advice.

Helen enjoyed shopping, ministering to nursing home patients and working in her flower garden. She believed kindness was as valuable as gold, and in giving flowers while you are living.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Reginald Rease; two sisters, Hilda and Alice Faye Davis, and two brothers, Lafayette Davis, Jr. and Melvin Davis.

Surviving to cherish  her  memories are her two son, Clinton “Tyrone” (Nancy) Rease, Sr., and Zantas “Zan” Rease both of High Point, NC; four grandchildren, Dianta Morrison, Clinton Tyrone Rease, Jr.,  Zamani Rease and Zaila Rease; two great-grandchildren, two sisters, Evon “Gale” (Larry) Davis and Brenda Jones both of Thomasville, NC  and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other  relatives and friends.
