The Obituary
On Thursday, July 18, 2019, at approximately 9:06 a.m. Heaven’s gate gently swung open, and the Master called softly, “Shelia Come Home!”. Following six months of declining health Shelia triumphantly exchanged her earthly life for life eternal while surrounded by family. She was blessed with 55 wonderful years of life and she will be missed.
Life’s journey for Shelia Arnetta Paige Smoot began on Saturday, September 28, 1963 in Thomasville, North Carolina. She was born to the late Palmer Paige and the late Mildred Maxwell Paige. She received her early education in Davidson County school system with the Class of 1982. She was married to late Harry L. Smoot, Jr. whom God called home in 2017.
Known by family and friends as “Big Sheet” and “Ten” loved everyone. Her warm smile welcomed friends into her home. She would give her last to anyone in need. Shelia worked as a Certified Nursing Assistance for over 40 years, throughout the Triad areas. She enjoyed cooking, dancing and entertaining. Family and friends will miss her outgoing personality and love for life.
She was proceeded in death by her parents and husband.
Shelia is survived by her daughter, Alicia Donta “Sissy” Paige of the home, two sisters, Sherry Paige of Thomasville, NC and Susan (Derryl) Pooler of Tyrone, GA, two brothers, Kenneth Paige and Anthony Paige both of Thomasville, NC , godmother, Ara Turner, stepfather, Mr. Willie Junior Kearse of Thomasville, NC, special friends, Barbara Norman, Cynthia Leak, Norine Anderson and Shelia Henderson-McCauley and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
