Her Journey
On January 6, 1948, Willie Mae Young McCaskill was born to the late Ralph and Mary Mageline Young in Thomasville, North Carolina.
Willie Mae graduated from Church Street High school with the class of 1966. She continued her education and earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree from Shaw University in Raleigh, North Carolina. Determined to create her own journey Willie Mae moved to New Jersey. She worked for University of Hackensack Hospital as an emergency room administrator. In 2012 she returned back to Thomasville, North Carolina to care for her beloved mother, until the Lord welcome her home in 2014.
As the wind blows and sand separates, we find quartz and jewels like Willie Mae. She enjoyed her roles as a daughter, a sister, a niece, an aunt, a mother, a grandmother, a great grandmother and a friend. We will capture and hold on to her memories knowing they will never end. Planted in her faith Willie Mae joined Williams Memorial Christian Methodist Episcopal Church where she sung with the Senior Choir. Singing was her ministry! During her leisure Willie Mae enjoyed watching soap operas, especially the “Young and the Restless”, country style cooking, and adoring her collections of jewelry and precious pots and pans that she used with her father.
As footprints fade, memories will always remain, leaving to reminisce days gone by are her two sons, Philamons Young of High Point, NC, and Ralpheal (Monique) of Old Bridge, NJ, five grandchildren, Yosmine Gaston, Natalya Young, Camden Young, Braydon McCaskill and Joshua Dickson, two great grandchildren, Peyton Gaston and Karson Brown; one sister, Dorothy Cole; and one brother, Michael Bennett; a special daughter-in-law, Treva Young; five special friends, Gloria Capel, Maryann “Kutti” Aprile, Renee Stuart, Juanita Wilson, and Annie Scarboro, and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and other relatives and friends.
On July 31, 2019, the gates of heaven opened, and God welcomed another angel, Willie Mae Young McCaskill to join her parents in their new heavenly home.
Humbly Submitted,
