The Obituary

Ruth Louise Sanders Gray was born on May 10, 1946 in Thomasville, North Carolina to the late Roberta Burnside Sanders and the late Tommy Joe Sanders. God sent his legion of angels to escort her to her eternal home on August 27, 2019 at 2:00 am.

Ruth attended the Thomasville City School system. Ruth was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She loved people, loved life and loved her family. Her last wishes was for her children and her family to come together and love on each other as she did. She was a mother to many children in the Thomasville community.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Arthur Gray, her sister, Carrie Lee Sanders, four brothers, Carvin Sanders, James Sanders, T. J. Sanders, and William Sanders, and a son-in-law, James Neal.

Left to cherish her memories, two daughters, Ramona (Earl) Hairston and Sonya Neal, two sons, Kevin (Ericka) Sanders and Zachary (Samantha) Sanders, twelve grand-children, Shimone Sanders, Quentin Sanders, Takira (Ray) Swann, Zeldon Graham, Amanda (Lamar) Marsh, Simone Milner, Mercedes (Terrence) Tillman, Sodonya (Kendrick) Stonewall, Khiry Billie, Zachary “Bubbles” Billie, DeShawn and DeJuan Austin; 15 great–grandchildren, one sister, Nancy Roberta (Larry) Smith, five special friends, Emma, Marie, Freda Robbie and Rita and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends
