Obituary

Mrs. Rosa Mae (Harris) Hudson, 94 years young, a resident of Thomasville, NC went home to be with the Lord Saturday, December 21, 2019.

Mrs. Hudson was born March 21, 1925 in Randolph County to Edna Harris. Her aunt, Lena Harris, raised her own along with her two children—Hazel (Harris) Hert and Cramer Harris.

Mrs. Hudson attended Church Street School and graduated with the class of 1943. She married Doak Hudson in 1946. During her life time, Mrs. Hudson worked a variety of jobs to provide for her family. She was employed by Circle Manufacturing and was a caregiver at Rhonda Kearns’ Daycare. She was a long-time member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, where she enjoyed being a part of an auxiliary called the Golden Girls. Mrs. Hudson also worked on the Kitchen Committee and sang on the choir. She was a fun-loving person who enjoyed the company of her family and many friends.

Mrs. Hudson was preceded in death by her husband, Doak Hudson; two sons, Ronald Lee Hudson and Alvin Hudson; and a one grand-daughter, Barbara Hudson.

Mrs. Hudson is survived by two sons: Swanson “Jerry” Hudson and his wife Ellanora, Ronald Goss Hudson, and his wife Katherine; a daughter, Rachel Hudson; twelve grandchildren; thirty-two great-grandchildren; twenty-four great-great-grandchildren; Mrs. Hudson also leaves behind a very special cousin, Marie Parson; and a host of family and friends too numerous to name.
