The Obituary

Leroy Thomas Tillman, Jr., was born on July 28, 1947, in Wadesboro, North Carolina to the late Leroy Tillman, Sr. and the late Jeretha Campbell Tillman. On January 3, 2020, he quietly departed this life.

Leroy was educated in the school district of Anson County, North Carolina. Graduating from West Deep Creek High School with the class of 1964. Searching for a solid career he enlisted into the United States Army in 1967. Where he mastered his 44B10– Specialist in Fabrication for Auto Body Repair, National Defense Service Medal and M14 Firearm Expert Medal.

Leroy was a quite and gentle man, he found peace in the comfort of home and family. He valued the tranquility of a quiet life in a lovely home environment where he enjoyed watching western movies and television shows, such a Gun Smoke and Golden Girls. Leroy enjoyed the company of a small circle of friends.

Leroy provided for his family through several career paths. He worked at Wadesboro Hospital Morgue Department as decedent's transporter, a meat specialist at Carl Rayfields and concrete finisher at Gray Concrete before retiring. He was a man who will be remembered for his good provision, love and care for his family.

Leroy was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Sarah Love Tillman and two brothers; Henry Tillman and Garfield Tillman.

He is survived by his four children, Leroy A. Tillman, Darrell (Janette) Tillman, Shirley Tillman and Janet Tillman all of Thomasville, North Carolina one granddaughter, Quatti Tillman of High Point, North Carolina; one brother, Charlie Tillman of Raleigh, North Carolina; one sister, Annie Tillman of Raleigh, North Carolina and a host of other relatives and friends.
