The Obituary

On Thursday, May 14, 2020, God dispatched his angels to accompany Raymond Ezell Ross, Jr. to his “Home” for eternal rest. Summoned to that celestial realm of eternal repose, he was granted his wings to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Raymond’s earthly journey began on September 21, 1951, in Shelby, North Carolina to the late Raymond Ezell Ross, Sr. and late Minnie Lott Ross. Raymond was blessed to have his foundation shaped by his paternal grandparents, the late Will and Carrie Ross.

Raymond received his formal education from Thomasville City School system. He was a graduate with the class of 1969 from Thomasville Senior High School. He was a faithful member of Brown New Calvary Baptist Church. His service to God and his church were Chairman of the Deacon Board, he also taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School, former Chairman of the Trustee Board, and loved visiting the sick and shut-ins.

Raymond will be remembered for his dedication to God, his family and friends. He was caring, loving,trustworthy, generous and fun. He was the greatest husband to Priscilla Jefferies Ross for almost 50 years and great father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend. He was an avid reader, always enhancing his education to continue to be an exemplifier for others. His hobbies were golfing, fishing,gardening and vacationing with the family in Hilton Head, SC. He was employed by Vann York Auto Group in High Point, NC for 38 years.

Raymond was proceeded in death by his parents, a sister, Catherine Carden and a brother, Larry Ross.

Raymond is survived by his devoted wife, Priscilla Ross of the home, three sons, Kevin (Shandra) Ross of Raleigh, NC, Jonathon (Marcia) Ross of Charlotte, NC and Shane Ross of Montreal, Canada, 6 grandchildren, Elysia, Nathaniel, Olivia, Kayla, Wesley and Alexa, a brother,Luther (Sue) Ross of Indianapolis, IN, 7 sisters-in-law, 5 brothers-in-law, a sister-friend, Brenda Ellison and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
