The Obituary
Life’s earthly journey for Roland Lonnie Farabee began on May 20, 1947 to the late Paul and Hazeline Lowery Farabee in Thomasville, North Carolina. Angels accompanied him into his Heavenly journey on August 17, 2020, after a brief illness.
Roland received his early education from Davidson County school system. He was employed at Thomasville Furniture Industry as a furniture assembler, allowing him to do what he loved doing best, using his hands. Roland’s carpentry made him famous for his picnic tables. He was an active member of Christian Fellowship Word of God. Roland was a member of the Trustee Board, the choir and Sunday school.
Family and friends will remember Roland as one of a kind; although he was a twin to Doland Farabee. There was no one like him. He enjoyed socializing with people. Roland loved people and people loved him. He was the life of the party. Roland also enjoyed sports, football and basketball.
Roland was proceeded in death by his parents, and siblings, Floyd Spencer and Paulette Farabee.
Roland leaves a legacy of love to his children, Roland (Angela) Farabee, Jr of High Pont, NC, Rosa Hudson of Thomasville, NC, Eula Farabee of Winston Salem, NC and Cheria Kearns of Thomasville, NC; seven grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Magaline Bowman and Sylvia Farabee both of Thomasville, NC, two brothers, Doland Farabee (his twin) of High Point, NC and Walter Ray (Lula) Farabee of Thomasville, NC and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
