Obituary

James Aaron Johnson was born December 10, 1951 in Thomasville NC and departed this life at his home on August 25, 2020.

“Jimmy”, as he was affectionately known, graduated from Thomasville Senior High, Class of 1970, and upon graduation would enlist and serve in the U.S. Army. He was a proud veteran.

Jimmy spent most of his working career in manufacturing.

He was a student of the word of God and was an avid reader of a wide range of scholarly material. Before his health became a challenge, Jimmy enjoyed going for long runs and playing golf. One of his many hidden talents was his ability to draw and paint. He was a fantastic artist.

Jimmy loved his family and will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by his beloved mother Maxine Oliver, sisters: Janice Hunter and Tammy Johnson and nephew Henry Lee Dunlap.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his son, Christopher Andre Johnson; father, Matthew Oliver; three grandchildren: Hala Iyanna Johnson, Deacon Riley Johnson, Lennox Cole Johnson; four sisters: Brenda Hogan, Sharon Downey (Jim), Josie Marsh (John), Carmen Oliver; four aunts: Elizabeth Parker, Emma Hogan, Shirley Hogan and Queen Oliver. and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
