Obituary
On August 17, 2023 , God whispered into April Dawn Hogan’s ear “rest in eternal peace”. Born on July 28, 1965 in Winston Salem, North Carolina to Emma Hogan and the late Willie James Baxter. April received her formal education within the Davidson County School system with the Class of 1983. Afterward she gained employment with several hosiery mills to sustains a secure foundation for her family. April also knew the importance of a spiritual foundation where she was a faithful member of Union Baptist Church.
Friends and family will remember the special love April had for her daughter and family; especially her grandchildren. Her outgoing personality, the life of the party, her personal fashion style, her jovial spirit; which kept you laughing, along with her comical and social demands. Also known by her signature of affection—blowing her horn to let you know she is here. She will never be forgotten.
April was proceeded in death by her grandparent’s Raymond and Mary Hogan, her brother, Larry Hogan and one nephew, Larry Hogan, Jr.
She leaves a legacy of love to her only daughter, Vetra Hogan, two grand- children, Kweli Hogan and Kelis Young; three brothers, Michael Hogan, Craig (Louis) Hogan and Corey Hogan; three sisters, Victoria Hogan, Darlene Hogan and Jean Hogan; two aunts, Elizabeth Parker and Shirley Hogan; six nieces, Shadae Pendergrass, Jasmine Pendergrass, Teliah Pendergrass, Shannon Little, Nicole Lucky and Chasity Hogan; four nephews, Michael (Capri) Hogan, Craig Hogan, Cordaruis Robinson and Brendon Sanders, sister-in-law, Shannon Hogan and a host of friends.
