Robert, formerly of Lenoir, NC, passed away suddenly at Novant Health Thomasville Medical Center. Robert attended the Freedman Elementary and Freedman High School in Lenoir, NC and graduated from the newly integrated Lenoir High School with the Class of 1967. After high school he followed in the footsteps of his maternal grandfather and uncles to become a Chef; he was mentored by several chefs from Lenoir Country Club, Lake Hickory Country Club, before becoming a professional executive chef in Greenville, NC and the metropolitan areas of Charlotte and Winston-Salem, NC.
Family: He is survived by his beloved wife, Carolyn, and the children, Angela (Chidi) Amadi of Wake Forest, NC; Sommer Patterson of Charlotte, NC; Shaqwan Hardy of Thomasville, NC, Gerald Bivens of Hickory, NC, and Donna Bivens (Marcus) of Hickory, NC. He was a retired Chef and Senior Deacon at First Missionary Baptist Church of Thomasville, NC.
The deceased is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Judy A. Patterson, and a brother, Larry A. Patterson.
