Obituary

Ethel was born on July 11, 1930 to the late Eugene and Vera Moss Douglas. She attended the Davidson County school system. While Ethel was in school she met and married the love of her life, Henry Ray, she was a devoted military wife for 20 years. They spent 72 blissful years together before he was dispatched home.

Ethel was a loyal wife, sister, aunt, niece, cousin and friend. She was a beacon of light for all those around her. Ethel was very easy to talk to, her spirit just made you want to come to in. Her sparkling personality made her the life of the party, she just knew how to cheer anyone up. If her personality didn’t make you want to be around her, her sense of style did, she loved to dress and be fashionable. Ethel was planted in her faith and served the Lord at all times, whenever someone would see her she would be reading the Bible. Her spirit and legacy will forever be with her family and friends, she will be missed dearly..

On Sunday afternoon, October 23, 2022, God whispered to Ethel, “well done my good and faithful servant,” and took her from her earthly home to her heavenly home.

Ethel was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Henry Ray.

Surviving to cherish her precious memories are her siblings and a multitude of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
