He answered “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind, and Love your neighbor as yourself”, these were the words Flossie Mock Izzard lived each day of her eighty-five years. Born on September 30, 1936 to the late Nathaniel Mock and Bertha Nelson in Thomasville, North Carolina.

Flossie was educated in the Davidson County school system and graduated from Church Street School class of 1955. After graduation she worked and retired at Carolina Underwear for 20 years. While Flossie was working and enjoying life, she met the love of her life, William Izzard and they married in 1988, and have been in wedded bliss for 34 years.

Deeply planted in her faith, Flossie was a good and faithful servant to the Lord. She was a very present and persistent member of Bethel Tabernacle Holiness Church in Thomasville, NC all of her life. Flossie was the mother of the church, and was a part of “The Hats” committee at church.

Flossie was an amazing cook, her specialties were macaroni and cheese, chicken pie, honeybun cakes and most importantly pork skins.
