Obituary

On Monday, August 7, 2023 James Edward Kearns transitioned from this earthly life to his eternal life while surrounded by family. He was born on July 1, 1933 in Thomasville, North Carolina to the late Ernest and Louise Harshaw Kearns.

“Jim Bo” as he was affectionately called by family and friends attended the public schools of Davidson County until he joined the workforce where he was employed at several manufacturing companies throughout the Triad area. Planted in his faith, he was a member of Central United Methodist Church.

Jim Bo was a loving, caring and kind person who enjoyed the simple things in life. He enjoyed spending time with family and helping others. During his leisure time, he enjoyed taking care of his lawn and fishing. On Saturday mornings he looked forward to searching for treasures at the local yard sales.

In addition to his parents, Jim Bo was preceded in death by three brothers, Richard Kearns, Harris Kearns, and William Kearns, and a sister, Lizzie Henderson.

Jim Bo leaves to cherish precious memories to his wife, Rachel Jackson Kearns of the home; two daughters, Debra (Jeffrey, Sr.) Poole and Sandra Horne; three sons, James Kearns, Jr., Cedric Kearns and Kenneth Kearns; one step-daughter, Sarah Jackson, eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; one sister, Margaret “Lucille” Terry and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
