Obituary
On Saturday, April 30, 1938, God released an angel named Joe Michael Cannon to begin his earthly journey. He was born to the late Willie Lee Cannon and Willa Mae Thomas Cannon in Thomasville, North Carolina. On Sunday, February 13, 2022, God quietly called Joe to his eternal rest.
Joe received his formal education from Church Street school. Family as friends will remember Joe as a kind-hearted, a great mentor and a selfless person, He loved taking care of his lawn and gardening. Joe’s favorite pastime was fishing.
Joe was a great provider, ensuing his family was well take care of. His employment career included: Carolina Veneer as a boiler, Sand Creek Farm and Snug Harbor Farm as an equestrian (horse trainer) with over 22 years of experience.
Joe was proceeded in death by his parents; wife, Betty Jean Cannon and granddaughter, Vanessa; three sisters: Nellie Swagerty, Peggy Green and Betty Rose Richardson.
He leaves to cherish fond and precious memories to his children: Joleather Correll of Columbia, SC, Colisa C. Kearns of Murfreesboro, TN, Joe (Carlie) Cannon of High Point, NC, Roger (Deborah) Cannon and Corey (Jennifer) Cannon both of Thomasville, NC; ten grandchildren: John, Scott, Jamie, Derrick, Latasha, Brennan, Brooklyn, Braylie, Jaylin and Chase; ten great-grandchildren, John Jr., Shavonna, Zyair, Destiny, Aaliyha, Dichon, Amari, Lanayshia, Billy Jr., and Alayshia; one sister Julia Cannon, special friends: Mike Curry of Great Falls, SC, Charles Bobo, Brandon Stout, Cherie Beatty , Jim and Jay Kending all of Shelbyville, TN and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
