Her Celebration of Life
Mrs. Lucille Nelson Junious also known to family members as “Bay” is the daughter of the late Joe Nelson and the late Millie Ann Jackson Nelson. Lucille was born on May 28, 1951 in Sumter County, South Carolina and died at Forsyth Medical Center on June 15, 2021.
Lucille attended Manchester and graduated from Furman High School class of 1971, after graduation she moved to Thomasville, North Carolina. She married James Junious on December 22, 1973, and from that union 3 children were born.
Lucille was employed at Thomasville Furniture Industries for 25 years and many years at Britthaven Nursing Home before retiring. Lucille loved her family and cherished them dearly. She also loved traveling and was one of the organizers of the annual “Friends and Family” trips. Lucille loved church and was a member of Freewill Union Methodist Episcopal Church where she served on many auxiliaries and served 12 years as a general board member of the U.M.E church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two sisters, Ann Lou Nelson and Ida Mae Hatcher, and two brothers, David Nelson and James Nelson.
She leaves to cherish her memories to her loving husband, James Junious of 48 years, two daughters, Sandra Nelson and Carlandra Junious both of Thomasville, North Carolina, one son, Tirrell Junious (Renada) of Rock Hill, South Carolina, one sister Fannie Bell Johnson of Rimini, South Carolina, four sister-in-laws Rosena Briggs (Elijah), Jackie Jones (Moses), Sadie Scott (Edmond) all of Summerton, South Carolina, Marie Nelson of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, twelve grandchildren Rajae Harris, Tanja Canty, Alexus Nelson, Ny’Asia Junious, Keyon Canty, Keyierra Canty, Amaria Ervin, Zamaria Wilson, Kaden Junious, Za’Nyia Junious, Kaleem Nelson-Palmer, and Kayanique Nelson-Palmer, four great grandkids, Rajae Harris Jr., Shakim Campbell, Ky’Aire Thomas, and Zy’leek Brand, special niece Betty Canty all of Thomasville, North Carolina, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
