Obituary
On May 29, 2022, the roll was called for Ransom Ellison to cease from his earthly labor and to come into his eternal home.
Ransom was born to the late Louis and Maggie James Ellison in Rimini, South Carolina; one of thirteen children. He attended the Clarendon County School System, graduating from Manchester High with the class of 1970. Where he played and excel in basketball and football. Ransom continued his education receiving his Associated Degree in mechanic from Davidson County Community College.
Ransom was a man who was reserved but people oriented. He was hardworking and provided a comfortable life style for his family, securing several positions with Thomasville Furniture Industry for 20 years, Custom Finishes for 9 years and Atrium for 6 years. He also worked as a auto mechanic for Sears Auto Center and in construction with his uncle Jerry in Deerfield, Fl. for 5-7 years.
Ransom was well respected as a husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. He exemplified qualities and traits for those near and dear to him to follow as he learned from his father. Ransom would always say “that’s what my Dad use to say’. In his pastime loved fishing, hunting and gardening. Storing and canning from his harvest is where he found solace. Sharing his harvest is where he showed compassion and gratitude. He will be missed by those who knew his best.
Ransom was preceded in death by his parents; two, brothers, James Watt Ellison and William Ellison, a sister, Maggie Ellison Green and his ex-wife, Bertha Mae Ellison.
Cherishing his memory are his two daughters, MSG Rhonda R. Ellison, Retired of Stafford, VA and Dana Parker of Lexington, NC; four grandchildren, Taniyah Wilson and Tazhyrian Parker both of Greensboro, NC, Takeyriah Wilson and Takyjhane Wilson both of Lexington, NC; four brothers, Lewis Ellison (Rev. Patricia A. Ellison) of Lexington, NC Leroy Ellison of Gorham, ME, Kervin Ellison of Hickory, NC, and Jerry (Felicia) Ellison of Charlotte, NC; five sisters, Lillie (Louis) Lowman, Pastor Hattie M. Green, and Patricia Ellison all of Columbia, SC, Odell (Charles) Rivers of Charlotte, NC and Loreneia Ellison of Marlboro, MD, Sandra (Bobby) McDuffie and Michael Greene both of Columbia, SC, and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
