Celebrating the life of....Rev. Donald Eugene Fant, Sr.

December 14, 1934 - December 17, 2020
On December 17, 2020, God whispered, "Come to me" softly into Reverend Donald Eugene Fant, Sr.'s ear and without hesitating, Donald entered into his eternal rest.
Donald was born on December 14, 1934, in Whitmire, South Carolina to the late Rufus and Edmonia Williams Fant. As a young man, he moved to Thomasville, North Carolina and was educated in the Davidson county school system. He was a graduate of the Class of 1962 at Church Street School in Thomasville, North Carolina. He began his working career at Grey's Concrete but retired from Thomasville Furniture Industry.
On May 25, 1985, Donald married Sylvia Ann Bradley and was blissfully married for 35 wonderful years.
Reverend Fant loved the Lord and was a good and faithful servant all the way until his passing. Deeply rooted and planted in his faith Reverend Fant decided that he wanted to use his voice to praise the word of God and become a pastor. He was the pastor of First Calvary Baptist Church in Lexington, NC for 22 years. His determination, strength, and willingness to be a vessel for the Lord made his a great leader of the church.
Reverend Fant enjoyed watching cowboy movies, and walking around Thomasville with an ice cold Pepsi in his hand. He was a very sharp dresser and he never left the house without a hat on his head. When he was younger he loved to read and collect comic books.
In additional to his parents, his sons, Donald Fant, Jr. and Calvin Fant, and a brother, Jim Fant whom preceded him in death.
Surviving to cherish precious memories are his wife, Sylvia Ann Fant of the home; a daughter, Althea Fant Warren of Thomasville, NC; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mary Steele, Lorraine Miller both of Thomasville, NC and JoAnn Henderson of Greensboro, NC; three brothers, Lester (Marjorie) Fant of Memphis, TN, James Fant of High Point, NC and Rufus (Dorothy) Fant of Thomasville, NC and a host of nieces, nephews, cousin and other relatives and friends.
