Her Journey

Sonja Davis was born on June 10, 1966 in Thomasville, North Carolina to Jeanette Singleton and Curtis Davis. She peacefully entered into heaven on March 4, 2022.

Sonja attended and graduated with the Class of 1985 from Thomasville Senior High School.

Sonja knew the importance of a strong spiritual foundation. She was a member of Hallelujah Baptist Church in High Point, North Carolina where she grew in her faith. Her jovial spirit will be missed by everyone.

Sonja’s formal employment was with Thomasville Furniture Industry, Dillard Plastics and Vitacost. Her greatest job was caring for her grandchildren. Which she adored!

Family and friends will remember Sonja’s present as being very loving and caring. Her loved for reading kept her imagination open and she would often escape into her novels. During her pastime she also enjoyed watching Law and Order.

Sonja was proceeded in death by two sisters, Gail Lewis, Kathy Agnew and one brother, Charles Davis.

Leaving to cherish her memories are her daughter, Karis Maffett of Thomasville, NC; her son, Strawn Wilson, Sr. of Jamestown, NC, ten grandchildren, Leanna Maffett, Ximarah McClain, Teagan Hopkins, Strawn Wilson Jr., Strawnay Wilson, Kaitlyn Wilson, Starr Wilson, Skye Wilson, Kendall Wilson and Serenity Wilson; her mother, Jeanette Singleton of Thomasville, NC; her father, Curtis Davis of Lexington, NC; two sisters, Angela Davis of Thomasville, NC, Dionne (Steve) Steele-Palmer of High Point, NC; one brother, Tyrone (Carla) Davis of High Point, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
