Obituary
“She is more precious than pearls– nothing you want can compare
with her. Long life is in her right hand, riches and honor in her left. Her ways are pleasant ways, and all her paths are peace. She is a tree of life to those who grasp her; whoever holds fast to her will be made happy.” (Proverbs 3:15– 18)
Wanda Pearl Morgan was born on December 11, 1943 in Thomasville, North Carolina to the late Maurice Franklin and Nellie Louise Gill Morgan. She quietly transitioned into heaven on January 31, 2023 to accompany her Lord and Savior.
Wanda was a graduate of Church Street School with the Class of 1961. Her intelligence awarded her as the Class Victorian. She also enjoyed playing in the band and shooting basketball. To sustain security for her family she worked at Parkdale Mills and Carolina Underwear as a seamstress.
Wanda was a faithful member of First Missionary Baptist Church until her health declined. Her love for the Lord never wavered, her biggest passion in life was God, family, and friends. Fond memories will always be cherished for her loving spirit, caring heart and devoted friendship.
Wanda was proceeded in death by her parents, her son, Derek Morgan, two brothers, Wilbert Franklin Morgan and Alvin Royce Morgan.
Wanda leaves her memories to cherish by her daughter, Darcell “Dee” (Henry) Harris of Raeford, NC; three grandchildren, Dekirah Marshall and Anthony (Kelli) Marshall both of Charlotte, NC and Darcell Marshall, Jr. of Jersey City, NJ; three great grandchildren, Anthony Marshall, Jr., Gianna Marshall and Tuesday Marshall, a sister-in-law, Marlene Morgan, a dear friend, June Billie and a host of nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
Prayfully submitted,
