Obituary

Deacon Willis Ettar Seigle was born in Salisbury, NC on December 11, 1956, and was the son of the late Gonzell and Lucinda Williams Seigle. He departed this life on Saturday, March 26, 2022, at the Hinkle Hospice House after an extended illness.

He attended Dunbar High School in East Spencer, NC. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle.

Deacon Seigle was a member of Word of Life Family Worship Center growing up. In 2019, he became a faithful member and musician at Sound Cathedral Ministries of Chosen Inc. where he was later ordained as the first Deacon of Sound in December 2021 under the leadership of Pastor Ronnie L. Walker.

He was indeed the “music man”. He started playing the piano by ear at the age of 5, never having a music lesson. He loved playing the piano, organ, keyboard, and guitar. His other hobbies were singing, cooking, cleaning, and socializing. He never met a stranger. His favorite saying was, he had been around the world once, and spoken to everyone twice. He loved his wife, but most of all he loved the Lord.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Minister Naomi Cowan, Ruth Casey and special friends, Bishop and First Lady McDougle.

Deacon Seigle was married to the love of his life, Mother Shirley Makupson Seigle. He leaves to cherish the memory of his life, his loving wife, Shirley of the home, son, Willis Seigle, Jr. (Pansy) of Salisbury NC. Step-children: Teresa Makupson of Winston Salem, NC Timothy Makupson of Greensboro, NC, Rachel Makupson (Elder Kenny) of Archdale, NC, Stephanie Robinson (Kelvin) of Thomasville NC, and Ashley Makupson of High Point, NC (his grand daughter who he considered his daughter). Seven grandchildren, and five great grandchildren. One brother, Alonzo Williams, Kissimmee, Fla, sisters, Rev. Doris Glaspy (Jay) Newark, NJ, Dorothy Heaggans (Elder Joseph) Statesville, NC, Elder Josephine Peck (Deacon James) Salisbury, NC, Ygerne Lynette Gibson (twin sister) Salisbury, NC, Elizabeth Burton, Granite Quarry, NC, Dr. Martha Starks (Elder Clinton) Granite Quarry, NC, Minister Cindy Wilson, Hampton, VA.
